QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION


Trustlife Labs under the umbrella of Trustlife Ventures Lab Sağlık Teknolojileri AŞ in Istanbul/Turkey (TRUSTLIFE (trustlifeventures.com)) develops novel drug candidates for the treatment of several metabolic diseases and different types of cancer, under the leadership of Prof. Adil Mardinoğlu. We are seeking highly motivated researchers in Organic/Medicinal Chemistry, with a strong interest in scientific projects. The candidate must be self-motivated and able to work independently but also to work efficiently in an international team setting. All research projects of ours are highly collaborative. The exposure to highly collaborative research projects and the members of the research teams should be intellectually stimulating. The projects will be carried out in the Trustlife Labs in Istanbul, Turkey. The Laboratory is located near the Istanbul Finance Center, Ümraniye in the Anatolian part of Istanbul.

Trustlife Labs is an international resource of unique technologies and expertise available to scientists, closely intertwined with the community of researchers in areas such as drug discovery, organic synthesis, drug formulation and molecular biology. It aims to bring scientists together across traditional boundaries and collaborations with industry, health care, public research organizations and international partners. 

Trustlife Labs;

Trustlife Labs Mainly focuses on the use of drug design based on computational chemistry  and medicinal chemistry to produce novel compounds for therapeutic targets to treat diseases. Trustlife Labs research group currently possesses qualified and experienced post-doctoral researchers working in the research and development with an emphasis on the design and synthesis of new drug substances and natural products as well as the discovery of drugs to treat unmet medical needs in the world.

Moreover, Trustlife Ventures Lab intends to perform in vitro studies and to design experimental plans for in-vivo studies. It works with customized cell lines. 

 

RESEARCHER/SENIOR RESERACHER POSITIONS:

Novel drug targets have been identified for several projects including NAFLD, Muscle sarcopenia, Liver Cancer, Kidney Cancer, Pancreatic Cancer, Prostate Adenocarcinoma and GBM via Artificial Intelligence & Systems Biology. Moreover, novel drug candidates are designed and synthesized within the projects. 6 more projects have recently started as well.

 

Within the scope of this add, Medicinal Chemists will be hired to design and develop multistep synthesis of novel compounds, with guidance of computer-based drug design performed by the computational team.

Projects are carried out at the Trustlife Labs under the supervision Prof. Adil Mardinoğlu. Projects run under collaboration with international research teams, will provide an opportunity to practice cutting edge medicinal chemistry in an interdisciplinary context and that directly impacts the discovery of new therapeutics for global unmet medical needs.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must have received a PhD/MSc in Organic/Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or a related area. We encourage applications from candidates with significant research experience in the synthesis of complex molecules and multi-step synthesis. Excellent communication skills in English, the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and scientific creativity are essential.

  • PhD/ MSc in Organic/Medicinal chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of post-graduate experience in the pharmaceutical industry or academia.
  • Must be self-motivated and have an excellent problem-solving approach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good teamworking and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Demonstrates technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others and independent thought in suggesting experimental design and research strategy.
  • Fluency in English.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

    The successful candidate will:

  • Develop new strategies for organic synthesis.
  • Perform multi-step organic syntheses, use Schlenk techniques & high-throughput purification.
  • Characterize complex molecules by NMR spectroscopy and Mass spectrometry.
  • Perform micro-scale as well as gram-scale reactions.
